Salvador Espríu

Salvador Espríu was a renowned Catalan poet, playwright, and novelist. Born on July 10, 1913, in Santa Coloma de Farners, Catalonia, Spain, he is considered one of the most important figures of 20th-century Catalan literature. Espríu's work often reflects on themes of death, transcendence, and the history and collective identity of the Catalan people. His notable works include 'La pell de brau' (The Bull's Hide) and 'Ariadna al laberint grotesc' (Ariadne in the Grotesque Labyrinth). He was also a candidate for the Nobel Prize in Literature. Salvador Espríu passed away on February 22, 1985, in Barcelona, Spain.
