Margaret Walker

Margaret Walker was an African American poet and writer, known for her acclaimed novel 'Jubilee' and her poetry collection 'For My People'. Her work often explored the African American experience, racial issues, and human rights. She was born on July 7, 1915, in Birmingham, Alabama, and passed away on November 30, 1998. Walker was also a literature professor and served as a mentor to many aspiring African American writers.
