Fedor Sologub

Fedor Sologub was a Russian symbolist poet, novelist, playwright, and essayist. Born on March 1, 1863, in St. Petersburg, Russia, he became known for his melancholic and often morbid writings. His most famous work is the novel 'The Petty Demon' (also translated as 'The Little Demon'), which portrays a provincial schoolteacher's descent into madness. Sologub's literature often reflects his fascination with the darker aspects of the human psyche and the inevitable tragedy of human existence. He was a significant figure in Russian symbolism and contributed to the development of Russian modernist literature before his death on December 5, 1927.
