Alexander Tvardovsky

Alexander Tvardovsky was a Soviet poet and writer who became famous for his poem 'Vasily Terkin', which depicted the life of a Soviet soldier during World War II. He was also the editor-in-chief of the influential literary magazine 'Novy Mir', which published many important Soviet and Russian literary works. Tvardovsky was known for his moral integrity and for his role in promoting liberalization in Soviet literature during the Khrushchev Thaw.
