Ding Ling

Ding Ling, originally named Jiang Bingzhi, was a prominent Chinese author and feminist, born on October 12, 1904, in Linli, Hunan Province, China. She is best known for her novel 'Miss Sophia's Diary', which provided a candid perspective on the inner lives of Chinese women. Ding Ling was an active participant in the May Fourth Movement and her works often explored themes of gender equality and social reform. She faced political persecution during the Anti-Rightist Movement and the Cultural Revolution but remained an influential figure in Chinese literature until her death on March 4, 1986.
