Barbara Burford

Barbara Burford (1944–2010) was a Jamaican-born British author, poet, and scientist. She was known for her work in the fields of genetics and histocompatibility, as well as for her contributions to literature and her advocacy for LGBTQ rights. Burford's writing often explored themes of identity, sexuality, and the intersection of science and society. She was also a founding member of the Gay Black Group in the UK.
