Mary O'Hara

Mary O'Hara was an American author and screenwriter, best known for her novel 'My Friend Flicka' (1941), which was adapted into a successful film and television series. She was born on July 10, 1885, in Cape May Point, New Jersey, and passed away on October 14, 1980. O'Hara's work often focused on themes of life in the American West, human-animal relationships, and coming-of-age stories. In addition to 'My Friend Flicka,' her notable works include the sequels 'Thunderhead' (1943) and 'Green Grass of Wyoming' (1946), which continued the narratives of the characters and horses she so vividly brought to life.
