Aleksis Kivi

Aleksis Kivi, born Alexis Stenvall, was a Finnish author who is widely regarded as the national writer of Finland. His most famous work is the novel 'Seven Brothers' (Seitsemän veljestä), which depicts the lives, struggles, and eventual personal growth of seven brothers living in rural Finland. Kivi's works are celebrated for their rich depiction of the Finnish landscape and culture, as well as their pioneering use of the Finnish language in literature at a time when Swedish was the dominant language in Finland.
