Niko Tinbergen

Niko Tinbergen was a Dutch biologist and ornithologist who is best known for his work in the field of ethology, the study of animal behavior. He was one of the founders of modern ethology and was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1973, alongside Konrad Lorenz and Karl von Frisch, for their discoveries concerning organization and elicitation of individual and social behavior patterns in animals.
