Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, commonly known as Mahatma Gandhi, was an Indian lawyer, anti-colonial nationalist, and political ethicist, who employed nonviolent resistance to lead the successful campaign for India's independence from British Rule, and in turn inspired movements for civil rights and freedom across the world. He was also an author who wrote extensively on topics such as nonviolent resistance, civil disobedience, and social issues. His works include 'The Story of My Experiments with Truth', which is an autobiography detailing his spiritual journey and principles.
