Xosé Neira Vilas

Xosé Neira Vilas (1928–2015) was a prominent Galician writer and intellectual, best known for his 1961 novel 'Memorias dun neno labrego' (Memoirs of a Peasant Boy), which became one of the most widely read works in Galician literature. Born in Gres, Vila de Cruces, Pontevedra, Galicia, Spain, he was a key figure in the Galician literary scene and worked to promote Galician culture and language throughout his life.
