Hope Mirrlees

Hope Mirrlees (1887–1978) was a British author and poet. She is best known for her fantasy novel 'Lud-in-the-Mist' (1926), which is highly regarded in the genre for its fairy-tale elements and rich prose. Mirrlees also published poetry and was close friends with fellow writer Virginia Woolf. Her work was largely unrecognized during her lifetime but has since gained a cult following and critical acclaim.
