George Turner

George Turner (1916–1997) was an Australian author and critic, best known for his science fiction novels, including the Arthur C. Clarke Award-winning 'The Sea and Summer'. He was also a recipient of the Miles Franklin Award for his novel 'The Cupboard Under the Stairs'. Turner's work often explored social and environmental themes, and he was considered a leading figure in Australian speculative fiction.
