Carlo Collodi

Carlo Collodi, born Carlo Lorenzini on November 24, 1826, was an Italian author and journalist, best known for his world-renowned children's book 'The Adventures of Pinocchio'. Collodi adopted his pen name from the Tuscan village of Collodi, where his mother was born. His most famous work, 'Pinocchio', tells the story of a wooden puppet who dreams of becoming a real boy and is notable for its moral lessons and the richly imaginative world it creates. Collodi passed away on October 26, 1890, but his legacy endures through the enduring popularity of Pinocchio.
