Carter Dickson

Carter Dickson is a pen name of John Dickson Carr, an American author born on November 30, 1906, and died on February 27, 1977. He was a prolific writer of mystery fiction, particularly known for his locked-room mysteries and impossible crimes. Carr was also a master of the historical mystery and wrote many novels set in different historical periods. Under the name Carter Dickson, he is best known for creating the character Sir Henry Merrivale, who features in many of his detective novels.
