Mohammed Dib

Mohammed Dib was an Algerian author and poet, widely regarded as one of the most prolific and influential writers of the Maghreb region. Born on July 21, 1920, in Tlemcen, Algeria, he wrote over 30 novels, as well as poetry, plays, and short stories, often focusing on the themes of exile, identity, and the complexities of colonial and post-colonial life. Dib's work is celebrated for its poetic language and exploration of the human condition. He passed away on May 2, 2003, in La Celle-Saint-Cloud, France.
