Michael Gilbert

Michael Gilbert (1912-2006) was a British author of crime fiction, thrillers, and mystery novels. He was also a solicitor and served in the British Army during World War II. Gilbert was known for his series featuring the lawyer-detective Arthur Crook and his police procedurals. He was a founding member of the British Crime Writers' Association and was awarded the CWA's Lifetime Achievement Diamond Dagger. His work is celebrated for its well-crafted plots, legal expertise, and engaging storytelling.
