Abhijit V. Banerjee

Abhijit Vinayak Banerjee is an Indian-American economist who, along with Esther Duflo and Michael Kremer, was awarded the 2019 Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences for their experimental approach to alleviating global poverty. He is a professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and a co-founder of the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL).
