Djibril Tamsir Niane

Djibril Tamsir Niane was a Guinean historian, playwright, and short story writer. He is best known for his work on the history of the Mali Empire and the epic of Sundiata. His most famous work is 'Sundiata: An Epic of Old Mali', a widely acknowledged account of the life of Sundiata Keita, the founder of the Mali Empire. Niane's contributions to African historiography and his efforts to embrace and disseminate African oral traditions have been widely recognized and respected.
