Mani Leib

Mani Leib (1883–1953) was a Yiddish poet and a key figure in the Yiddish literary movement of the early 20th century. Born in Ukraine, he emigrated to the United States in 1905. He was part of a group of Yiddish poets called Di Yunge (The Young), who sought to express personal emotions and aesthetics in their poetry, in contrast to the older, more politically driven Yiddish literature of the time. Mani Leib's work is characterized by its lyricism, musicality, and deep emotional resonance.
