Kathleen Collins

Kathleen Collins was an African American playwright, writer, filmmaker, director, and civil rights activist. She is best known for her pioneering work in independent film, as well as being one of the first black women to direct a feature film. Her notable work includes the film 'Losing Ground' and a collection of short stories titled 'Whatever Happened to Interracial Love?'. Collins's work often explored themes of race, gender, and sexuality, and she has been recognized posthumously for her contributions to cinema and literature.
