Eric Knight
Eric Knight (1897–1943) was a British-American author, best known for creating the character Lassie. He was born in England and later moved to the United States, where he became a successful writer. Knight's most famous work, 'Lassie Come-Home,' was published in 1940 and has become a classic in children's literature. He served in the US Army during World War II and died in a plane crash while on duty.
