Richard Wagamese

Richard Wagamese (1955 – 2017) was an Ojibwe from the Wabaseemoong Independent Nations in Northwestern Ontario. He was a Canadian author and journalist known for his work in highlighting the experiences of Indigenous peoples in Canada. His best-known book is 'Indian Horse', which was a finalist for the Canada Reads program and was adapted into a feature film. Wagamese's writing often explores themes of identity, culture, and reconciliation.
