Anna Maria Ortese

Anna Maria Ortese (1914–1998) was an Italian author known for her novels, essays, and short stories. Her work often explored themes of poverty, injustice, and social isolation. She gained critical acclaim with her book 'Il mare non bagna Napoli' (The Sea Does Not Bathe Naples), which highlighted the struggles of the Neapolitan poor.
