Melina Marchetta

Melina Marchetta is an Australian author best known for her young adult fiction. Her debut novel, 'Looking for Alibrandi', received critical acclaim and won the Children's Book Council of Australia Book of the Year Award in 1993. Marchetta's other works include 'Saving Francesca', 'On the Jellicoe Road', which won the prestigious Michael L. Printz Award from the American Library Association, and 'The Lumatere Chronicles', a fantasy trilogy.
