Konstantin Stanislavski

Konstantin Stanislavski was a seminal Russian theatre practitioner and actor. He was born in 1863 in Moscow and died in 1938. Stanislavski is best known for his development of the 'system' of actor training, preparation, and rehearsal technique, which led to the method acting approach widely used today. He co-founded the Moscow Art Theatre, where his productions of plays by Chekhov and others became famous.
