Edward O. Thorp

Edward O. Thorp is an American mathematics professor, author, hedge fund manager, and blackjack player. He is best known for his book 'Beat the Dealer,' which was the first book to prove mathematically that blackjack could be beaten by card counting. Thorp is also known for his work in quantitative finance and for being a pioneer in the development of the first wearable computer.
