William Henry Ireland

William Henry Ireland was an English forger of Shakespearean documents and plays. He is best known for his forgeries of Shakespearean works, which he initially claimed to have discovered. His most famous forgery was the play 'Vortigern and Rowena', which was performed in 1796 before being exposed as a fake.
