Neal Cassady
Neal Cassady was an American writer and a major figure of the Beat Generation. He is best known for his friendship with Jack Kerouac and his role as the inspiration for the character Dean Moriarty in Kerouac's novel 'On the Road'. Cassady was also associated with the Merry Pranksters and was a key figure in the counterculture movement of the 1960s.
