Nemonte Nenquimo

Nemonte Nenquimo is an Indigenous Waorani leader and environmental activist from Ecuador. She is known for her efforts in protecting the Amazon rainforest and advocating for Indigenous rights. In 2020, she was recognized as one of Time magazine's 100 most influential people for her leadership in a landmark legal case that protected half a million acres of rainforest from oil extraction.
