Ignatius of Loyola

Ignatius of Loyola was a Spanish Basque Catholic priest and theologian, who founded the religious order called the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) and became its first Superior General. He is known for his influential work, the Spiritual Exercises, and played a significant role in the Counter-Reformation.
