Sholom Aleichem
Sholom Aleichem was a prominent Yiddish author and playwright, best known for his stories about Tevye the Dairyman, which inspired the musical 'Fiddler on the Roof'. His works humorously depicted Jewish life in Eastern Europe in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
