Hugo Gernsback
Hugo Gernsback was a Luxembourgish-American inventor, writer, editor, and magazine publisher, best known for his contributions to the science fiction genre. He founded the first science fiction magazine, Amazing Stories, in 1926 and is often referred to as 'The Father of Science Fiction.' The Hugo Awards, given annually for the best science fiction or fantasy works, are named in his honor.
