Nicolas Bourriaud

Nicolas Bourriaud is a French curator and art critic known for his influential work in contemporary art theory. He is best known for coining the term 'Relational Aesthetics' which describes a mode of art that emphasizes the social context and interactions between the artwork and the audience. Bourriaud has held several prominent positions in the art world, including co-founding the Palais de Tokyo in Paris and serving as the director of the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts.
