Władysław Szpilman

Władysław Szpilman was a Polish pianist and composer of Jewish descent, best known for his memoir 'The Pianist', which recounts his survival during the Holocaust in Warsaw. His story was later adapted into an award-winning film directed by Roman Polanski.
