Bernard de Montfaucon

Bernard de Montfaucon was a French Benedictine monk and scholar, known as one of the founders of modern archaeology and a pioneer in the study of Greek paleography. He is best known for his work 'L'Antiquité expliquée et représentée en figures,' which was a comprehensive collection of illustrations and descriptions of ancient artifacts.
