Thomas Gray

Thomas Gray was an English poet, letter-writer, and scholar, best known for his Elegy Written in a Country Churchyard, published in 1751. He was a classical scholar and became a fellow at Cambridge University. Despite writing only a small number of poems, Gray is considered one of the leading figures of the mid-18th century English poetry.
