Abbot Suger

Abbot Suger was a French abbot, statesman, and historian, known for his role in the development of Gothic architecture. He served as the abbot of Saint-Denis and was a close advisor to King Louis VI and King Louis VII of France. Suger is often credited with popularizing the use of stained glass and architectural innovations that characterized the Gothic style.
