Thomas Ashby

Thomas Ashby was a British archaeologist and the first scholar to study the topography of ancient Rome in a systematic way. He was the director of the British School at Rome from 1906 to 1925 and made significant contributions to the understanding of Roman roads and ancient sites in Italy.
