Madhav Gadgil is an Indian ecologist, academic, writer, and the founder of the Centre for Ecological Sciences at the Indian Institute of Science. He is known for his work in environmental science and his contributions to the Western Ghats Ecology Expert Panel, often referred to as the Gadgil Commission.
