Lawrence W. Levine

Lawrence W. Levine was a prominent American historian known for his work on American cultural history and his contributions to the understanding of American society and culture. He was a professor at the University of California, Berkeley, and later at George Mason University. Levine's influential works include 'Black Culture and Black Consciousness' and 'Highbrow/Lowbrow: The Emergence of Cultural Hierarchy in America.'
