Francis Drake

Francis Drake was an English sea captain, privateer, and explorer during the Elizabethan era. He is best known for his circumnavigation of the world in a single expedition from 1577 to 1580, which made him a celebrated figure in England. Drake also played a key role in the defeat of the Spanish Armada in 1588.
