John Lubbock
John Lubbock, 1st Baron Avebury, was a British banker, politician, naturalist, and archaeologist. He was a prominent advocate for the study of natural history and played a significant role in the establishment of archaeology as a scientific discipline. Lubbock was also instrumental in the passage of the Bank Holidays Act of 1871, which introduced public holidays in the UK.
