Jonas Mekas

Jonas Mekas was a Lithuanian-American filmmaker, poet, and artist, often regarded as the 'godfather' of American avant-garde cinema. He was a key figure in the New York underground film scene and co-founded the Anthology Film Archives, one of the world's largest and most important repositories of avant-garde cinema.
