Anna Politkovskaya

Anna Politkovskaya was a Russian journalist, writer, and human rights activist known for her critical reporting on the Chechen conflict and the Russian government. She was a fierce advocate for human rights and was renowned for her courage in exposing corruption and abuses of power. Her work earned her numerous awards, but also made her a target, and she was tragically assassinated in 2006.
