Richard Bartle

Richard Allan Bartle is a British writer, professor, and game researcher, best known for his work in the field of multiplayer online games. He co-created MUD1, the first MUD (multi-user dungeon), in 1978 and has contributed significantly to the study and development of virtual worlds.
