Andrei D. Sakharov

Andrei Dmitrievich Sakharov was a prominent Soviet physicist, dissident, and human rights activist. He is best known for his role in the development of the Soviet hydrogen bomb and later became an advocate for civil liberties and reform in the Soviet Union. Sakharov was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1975 for his efforts in advocating for human rights and disarmament.
