Papias of Hierapolis

Papias of Hierapolis was an early Christian bishop and author, known for his work 'Exposition of the Sayings of the Lord'. He lived in the late 1st and early 2nd centuries and is considered an important figure in early Christianity, though much of his work survives only in fragments quoted by later authors.
