Pastors of Magdeburg
The 'Pastors of Magdeburg' refers to a group of Lutheran pastors from Magdeburg, Germany, who were instrumental in the drafting of the Magdeburg Confession in 1550. This document was a significant Protestant statement of resistance against the Holy Roman Emperor Charles V's imposition of the Augsburg Interim. The confession justified the right of lower magistrates to resist the emperor's religious policies. The individual identities of the pastors involved are not well-documented.
