Bret Lott is an American novelist and professor, best known for his novel 'Jewel,' which was an Oprah's Book Club selection. He has authored numerous novels, short stories, and essays, and has served as the editor of 'The Southern Review.' Lott is also a professor of English at the College of Charleston.
